Age: 80 years
Date: September 25, 2024
Presenting Complaints: Dyspnea (difficulty breathing) after minimal exertion (e.g., walking five feet) and during conversation; generalized edema (whole-body swelling); and generalized weakness.
Diagnosis: Congestive Cardiac Failure (CCF)
Diagnostic Findings: 2D echocardiogram (2DEcho) revealed an ejection fraction (LVEF) of 10% and severe mitral regurgitation.
Medical History: Prior angioplasty on February 18, 2020.
Treatment: The patient presented to Dhage Healthcare Cardio-Protective Ayurved Centre, Pune, seeking Ayurvedic treatment for heart failure,Ayurvedic medicines for mitral regurgitation, and Ayurvedic Consultant For reduced cardiac pumping capacity. Following a physical examination, an Ayurvedic treatment regimen for heart disease was initiated.
Follow-up: After three months, a follow-up assessment was conducted. The patient is currently asymptomatic and ambulates as tolerated for her age.
Three-Month Follow-up Diagnostic Findings (2DEcho, December 12, 2025): LVEF improved to 25-30%; cardiac pumping capacity is enhanced.
Conclusion: Both the patient and our team are satisfied with the efficacy of the Ayurvedic treatment for heart failure. However, continued medication is essential to mitigate potential complications and the future need for cardiac transplantation.
